It is written in the simple language of a child. It does resemble a child’s nursery rhyme to a certain extent. There are a number of poetic devices used. There is personification – trees are made to be like people – they can take a rest. Similarly, there is someone who lights up the stars making them shine brightly, someone teaching the birds to build nests, someone is making the lightning flash, someone paints rainbows, someone hangs out clouds. Stars are living things as they can blow out and get dim; the wind is something we have not seen although we see its effects and sometimes its devastation; and the moon can hide parts of itself when it chooses to and reveals all of itself when it chooses to. These elements of nature are personified or made to seem they are like people and can act the way people can.
